Ekta Kapoor Reveals Jeetendra’s Real Estate Wealth Mantra
Ekta Kapoor, a television producer, credits her father, veteran actor Jeetendra, for helping the family create wealth through financial discipline, land investments, and company diversification. She also said he invested in data centers before they became famous. Kapoor referred to real estate as ‘the big brother of any business that stands by you.’
According to Kapoor, purchasing a home provides financial security because it is an asset that can be used and enjoyed. “Buying a home is your only security because that’s the money you can actually enjoy,” she replied.
In a recent episode of The Ranveer Show (TRS) podcast, which aired on October 10, Ekta told presenter Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, that her father and brother, actor Tusshar Kapoor, had outperformed her in the property business. She emphasized their commitment to financial discipline, strong business economics, and affordable housing.
Ekta stated that her father had a successful construction career and invested in data centers before they became famous. She also discussed the family’s affordable housing projects, expressing her excitement about a forthcoming project at a place where she was filming.
“I believe it is one of the most interesting industries because my father is in construction and has done extremely well for himself. He pioneered the construction of data centers.
Kapoor stated that real estate provides financial security because it is an asset that individuals can utilize and enjoy.
“More or less, practically everyone I know who has created fortune in India eventually invests in real estate. Even for ordinary people, purchasing a property is the only way to ensure financial security because that is the money you can spend,” she explained.
Kapoor compared property to gold jewelry, claiming that both serve a dual purpose as usable assets and investments. “You wear the gold; you own it. When you own a house, you live there. So it’s usable while also appreciating,” Balaji Telefilms’ promoter and joint managing director explained.
According to Kapoor, real estate is the safest investment even now. “Real estate is the only thing; it’s like a big brother for any business. Your older brother is standing at your side.
Jeetendra and Tusshar Kapoor have ‘done better than I have’
Ekta described real estate as one of the most exciting enterprises, citing her father’s success in construction and investment in data centers before they became generally famous.
“They have performed better than I have. But very few people realize that my father and brother are doing significantly better than I am,” she stated, referring to the family’s non-entertainment business activities. She commended their approach to financial management and real estate endeavors, noting that they kept their numbers in check, followed solid economic principles, and concentrated on affordable housing.
Ekta Kapoor discusses her father’s investment strategy.
Ekta explained Jeetendra’s wealth-building strategy, stating that her father was from the middle class and believed in saving money before investing it to develop more wealth. She presented an approach that included first conserving money, then investing in land, and last seeking additional business opportunities.
“When you have that, you need to know how to preserve. Kapoor recommends saving money and learning to invest in land, objects, and businesses.
Jeetendra’s real estate investments range from a ₹4.25-lakh Pali Hill house to a ₹855-crore commercial project.
Veteran actor Jeetendra Kapoor has long been regarded as one of Bollywood’s most savvy real estate investors, discreetly accumulating a property portfolio that has gained dramatically over the years. The actor was in the headlines after stating in July 2026 that the property he bought in Mumbai’s upmarket Pali Hill decades ago for only ₹4.25 lakh is now estimated by media estimates to be approximately ₹450 crore.
Jeetendra recounted purchasing the Pali Hill mansion in the 1980s, a watershed moment after spending much of his childhood in a humble 20×10-foot room in a Mumbai chawl.
Recalling the transaction, the actor stated in July, “Bharat Bhushan was a great celebrity in those days, having done films like Baiju Bawra. He approached me with an offer to buy his Pali Hill bungalow. When I told my father, he added, ‘Let’s also buy a cottage.'” We had been living in the lower middle class up to that point. Eight of us shared a 20×10 room in a chawl. I finally purchased the property for ₹4.25 lakh. What was even more astonishing was that it came with a 3,450-square-foot plot for the same price.”
“When it was demolished, I received ₹11.5 lakh for the Burma teak used in its construction.” “I bought the bungalow for ₹4.25 lakh and earned ₹11.5 lakh from the wood alone,” he explained.
Jeetendra Kapoor and his family have been among the most active Bollywood figures in Mumbai’s high-value real estate market, executing transactions worth more than ₹1,400 crore in the last two years.
In May 2025, the renowned actor and his family sold a 2.39-acre property tract in Andheri to NTT Global Data Centers for ₹855 crore via two family-owned firms: Pantheon Buildcon Private Limited and Tusshar Infra Developers Private Limited.
In June 2025, Jeetendra Kapoor and his daughter, Ekta Kapoor, founder of Balaji Telefilms, sold a 2,149 sq ft apartment in Omkar 1973, Worli, for ₹ 12.25 crore. The property sold for ₹57,003 per square foot (carpet area) and had two parking spaces.
